Taking you through the making of a quilt from start to finish in 11 A 10 week course starting on 7th June 2006 which will cover the basic skills needed to learn about patchwork and quilting. The meetings are every Wednesday from 6.45pm to 9pm. This course is designed for beginners and those who know something about the skill but would like to learn more. Dates can be arranged to suit most needs. The course will cover template making, rotary cutting, appliqué work, English patchwork, foundation piecing and working with curved pieces of fabric. Information will also be given about equipment to use and help given with choice of fabrics for the project. On 8th February we will spend the evening talking about equipment and fabric so there is no need to bring anything. However if you have some equipment and/or have chosen your fabric by then please bring it along with you. In your fabric choices please remember the patchwork is best worked with 100% cotton. Polyester fabric tends to distort and woven or upholstery fabrics are too heavy to work with. I look forward to meeting you on Wednesday 7th June at 6.45pm. Barbara Cox |
